THURSDAY, MAY 23, 2013 -- Port of Tacoma Annual Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center, 1500 Broadway in Tacoma. The program will examine the state of the economy, prospects for U.S. West Coast ports and how technology and consumer demand influence the retail supply chain. Summit Award winners will also be recognized. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. The price includes breakfast and parking in the convention center's parking garage or lots A, B, D or E. Seating is limited. Reserve seats online by May 16. SATURDAY, JUNE 1, 2013 -- Seattle Catholic Seafarers' Center annual Home From the Sea Shipboard Luncheon onboard Holland America Line's WESTERDAM at Smith Cove Cruise Terminal, Pier 91, in Seattle. Cost is $45 per person. Holland America Line covers all expenses for the luncheon so that all proceeds support the work of the Catholic Seafarers' Center. Check-in is at 10:15 a.m. with lunch served at 11:00 a.m. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the WESTERDAM following lunch. To register, e-mail dahara@cscseattle.org or call (206) 441-4773. Registration deadline is May 22 and seating is limited to 300 guests.

SATURDAY, JUNE 8, 2013 -- Port of Friday Harbor “Welcome to the Water” Marina Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the port parking lot and on the docks closest to shore. There will be a seafood chowder cook-off, a marine swap meet, live music and children’s activities. There will be free dinghy, kayak, paddle boat and electric Duffy boat rides—all provided by Friday Harbor Marine for this special event.
